ROOFTOP UNIT TESTING
The project includes 9 new psychrometric chambers sized: 15-ton, 25-ton, 65-ton, and 150-ton. The operating range of the test chambers is -30F to 130F. Testing for regulatory compliance, performance, safety and reliability (AHRI, ASHRAE, UL, & CSA). Testing 60HZ and 50HZ units alike.
LIFECYCLE TESTING
Ability to test HVAC units through years of weather conditions in an accelerated fashion. Continuous operation facility able to test up to 20 products at once up to 5-ton. Capability to produce snow, fog, high humidity, extreme temperatures, and ice.
150 ton
A new stand alone building for testing up to 150 ton HVAC units from -20F to 150F. Humidity range is 95% at 65F, 65% at 150F. All custom ducting conforms to SMACNA standards.
Psych upgrade
Remodel of existing psychrometric facility removing outdated equipment, upgrading the control hardware, software, and control schemes.
gas furnace testing
Test capabilities for gas heater testing up to 1.6M BTUH for regulatory compliance, performance, safety, and reliability. Conforms to DOE, ANSI, ASHRAE, UL, & CSA.
electric heater testing
Test capabilities for any size electric heater testing up to 280KW for regulatory compliance, performance, safety, and reliability. Conforms to DOE, ANSI, ASHRAE, UL, & CSA.
Laboratory building controls
Building automation including controls and monitoring for: building chillers, steam boilers, pumps, air compressors, hot water boilers. Facility temp and humidity controls and monitoring as well.
chiller controls & daq
Custom motor controls, 50HZ power, PLC automation and controls. Custom operator interface with multiple capabilities as specified by the client.
psychrometric controls
Custom controls for lifecycle test facility for psychrometric test facility. Motor controls, PLC automation, DAQ systems and energy monitoring systems.
air flow ducting
Custom duct designs for lab applications have been engineered by Victorum using the latest SMACNA standards. Venturi nozzles and high precision differential pressure transducers allow extremely accurate flow rate measurements in duct systems.
coil calorimeter
Redesigned a water to air coil calorimeter tunnel. The system measures mass flow with automatically actuated venture nozzles. Inlet and outlet enthalpy of air is determined by measuring dry bulb and wet bulb temperature upstream and downstream of the coil. An autotest feature was added along with safety mechanisms so many different tests could be run autonomously, leading to considerable lab savings.
tube calorimeter
A calorimeter that measures the effectiveness of copper and aluminum tubing with refrigerant inside and water counter-flown on the outside of the tube was redesigned. The original calorimeter cost over $1m in 1997. The complete redesign and rebuild cost less than $200K in 2015. System successfully can control superheat and subcooling entering and exiting the tube; tube can be operated in condensing mode or evaporating mode.
afm design
We design completely automated, leak-proof airflow meters with software that allows users to select combinations of Venturi nozzles to ensure that the accuracy of the flowrate measurement is kept within required specifications.
sound room
We have designed the cooling and heating systems, software, data acquisition, and room controls for many different sound rooms of various sizes – both anechoic and hemi-anechoic rooms.
chiller test facility
We have commissioned, modified, and specified components for chiller test facilities of over 100 tons.
